KeyLime Cove Tropical Paradise opens in ILLINOIS!

America’s most exciting waterpark opened in Gurnee, Illinois. The $135 million, 400 room resort is designed as a total themed hotel and water park environment, inspired by the tropical island lifestyle which emulates this vacation experience from the lobby of the hotel, to the resort style themed rooms to the tropical themed indoor water park.

The 65,000 square foot indoor water park is a

full and integral part of the entire themed environment that makes up this unique resort experience.

Entering the park is a journey into an enchanted aquatic paradise filled with lush palm trees, tropical vegetation and water that stretches to the artificial skyline painted with distant clouds and wind swept ocean breezes. Whitewater West’s highly colorful Key West themed interactive AquaPlay RainFortress play structure known as ‘Toukie’s Big Delug’ stands out distinctly from this tranquil backdrop as a focus for all things fun. Atop this structure is a giant themed pineapple tropical drink bucket which periodically fills and spills water onto guests below. The Lazy River offers an ability to explore this island paradise at your leisure and push through the simulated surf of the wave pool to the beach beyond.

The slide complex chosen for this park provides a full range of custom designed body and tube slides. Two fully enclosed 1-2 person inner tube slides extend off the 40 foot elevation into a landing pool below the tower in a splash of fun. Next to these are two serpentine body slides that extend off the same height but at a far more thrilling configuration. The feature ride here is no doubt Whitewater West’s SuperBowl known as ‘Hurricane's Vortex’ a 1-2 person inner tube bowl that follows a dramatic curved drop into a 40 foot diameter bowl and then transitions into a channel of the Lazy River below.

Additional attractions include a Family Wave Pool, numerous Children’s slides, AquaSpray products and more to create the largest indoor waterpark by Whitewater West in the area.
