The Refinishing Touch expands Touch Textiles brand with new all-weather upholstery line

Published March 4 , 2010 Mario Isenga

The Refinishing Touch, a specialist in on-site furniture refinishing, reupholstery and modification services, has expanded its Touch Textiles collection with a new line of weatherproof upholstery fabrics designed to withstand UV rays, sunlight and the effects of cleaning agents.

The new line includes hundreds of colors, patterns and textures and is suited to indoor and outdoor upholstery projects of all kinds.   It complements existing and potential reupholstery projects The Refinishing Touch has across the hospitality, government and university sectors

Certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute as it is manufactured with low chemical emissions, the new all-weather fabrics undergo a special dyeing process which creates no harmful wastewater and it consumes less water and energy than traditional processes.  Furthermore, the fabrics are designed to last up to ten times longer than standard fabrics, reducing the effects of cotton production on the environment.

Touch Textiles’ new line will be comprised of three fabric categories: shadow, sheer, and sling.

Specially constructed with an open weave design, shadow fabrics have a unique flow-through finish for a lighter makeup. Sheer fabrics combine high quality materials with high quality designs for a low-maintenance and light structure. Sling fabrics use a vinyl yarn composition to be sleek yet strong.

Mario Insenga, founder and CEO of The Refinishing Touch, said, “We are seeing an increase in the demand for sustainable materials from our clients across the hospitality, university and federal industries. We originally launched Touch Textiles, back in 1990, in response to demands from our clients to cut operational costs and complexities. Again, we are responding to market demand by bringing this new line of environmentally friendly products to market, while providing the quality finishing and standards our customers expect and deserve.”
