WTDC, Leading Supply Chain and Logistics Company Brings Its Experience, Cost-Saving Technology To Vacation Ownership Industry

Published November 5, 2009 Ralph Gazitua president and CEO of WTDC

Miami, FL-WTDC, featuring years of hospitality experience with companies such as Westin, Marriott, Starwood, Fiesta Americana (Mexico) and Riu Hotels, is bringing its high-tech, cost-saving technology in supply chain management to the vacation ownership/fractional resort industry.

Based in Miami, Florida, for more than 30 years, WTDC (www.wtdc.com) features more than 135,000 square feet-a capacity of nearly 12,000 pallets-at its corporate headquarters near Miami International Airport.  The company, which provides supply chain management, including moving materials from International as well as Domestic origins, warehousing, contract distribution and U.S. Customs bonded warehousing, handles 15-20 shipping containers daily for customers worldwide.

WTDC, which also handles warehousing and installation worldwide, is able to deliver materials in a timely manner-avoiding the need for expensive, disorganized or insecure storage facilities-through the use of its online inventory control system.  This state-of-the-art technology allows the resort development team to order and track materials, providing up to the minute information on a 24/7 basis.

WTDC's worldwide operations features more than 135,000 square feet at its Miami, Florida corporate headquarters alone. The 30-year-old company handles FF&E, warehousing and installation worldwide and has worked with companies such as Westin, Marriott, and Starwood.“Our experience in the hospitality field enables us to inventory the FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment), power generation equipment and other long term infrastructure items and deliver them in a timely manner,” said Ralph Gazitua, president and CEO of WTDC.  “Even though new building has slowed down in vacation ownership-much like the remainder of hospitality industry-major renovations are up. Resorts still need a facility, with experienced professionals, to help streamline the entire logistics process.”

For one of its latest hospitality projects, The Westin St. John Resort & Villas in the US Virgin Islands, WTDC coordinated with the purchasing company, HPG International, to bring in goods from abroad (storing them in bond) as well as from various FF&E manufacturers to deliver a timely and trouble free supply chain.

Every item in WTDC's warehouse is scanned into the company's proprietary online inventory system. This state-of-the-art technology allows the resort development team to order and track materials, providing up to the minute information on a 24/7 basis.“As with most hospitality projects, the procurement firm and the hotel do not have their own secure warehousing, “ said Reyna Prego-Arredondo, Senior Project Manager for HPG International. “We rely on dependable and experienced logistics companies to be able to handle purchases coming in quickly from areas all over the globe. WTDC was a major plus in this project's success. WTDC attention to detail, flexibility, accuracy and overall team spirit resulted in stellar results for the Westin St. John.”
