Sail Through CancerSystems Products International (SPI) Founding Sponsor of the Sail Through Cancer Foundation

Published March 27, 2009

The Sail Through Cancer Foundation announced that Systems Products International (SPI) is a founding sponsor, while Bryan Cave, LLP; Parker Madison and Kitchen Couture are corporate sponsors. The Sail Through Cancer Foundation was founded by Dick Drechsler, author of Manning Up In Alaska (www.ManningUpInAlaska.com) to assist cancer patients/survivers through the restorative nature of boating.

Systems Products International Inc. (SPI) was founded in 1978 in Miami, Florida to address the specific software needs of the vacation ownership or timeshare industry. Today, SPI is a global company with an expanding portfolio of customers including both well-known brands and smaller entrepreneurial companies on five continents. SPI has a broad spectrum of timeshare software, condo hotel software and applications for fractional ownership resorts, private residence clubs and vacation clubs.

Bryan Cave LLP is a leading business and litigation firm with global reach, a strong reputation and a long history of success working for a diverse client base, including businesses, financial institutions and not-for-profit organizations, government entities and individual clients. Parker Madison Dialogue Marketing, under the guidance of Founder Mark Godfrey, provides strategic guidance, graphic design, marketing services, corporate and product branding. Parker Madison is particularly adept at marketing companies on a limited budget and has been helping companies bridge the gap between marketing and sales results for the past 15 years. Kitchen Couture markets unique kitchen-wear that puts a trendy, non-traditional spin on the cook’s favorite standby – the apron.

About the Sail Through Cancer Foundation
The Sail Through Cancer Foundation (www.sailthrucancer.org), is a 501(c )(3) tax exempt organization. The organization supports a “Six Point Call For Presidential Action” for the reform of treatment for cancer sufferers. Other activities of the Foundation include the sharing of examples, such as his, of surviving and even thriving after cancer and the distribution of inspirational materials, including Dick’s book, Manning Up In Alaska. Dick is currently in the process of recruiting an Armada of Hope||a cadre of boaters willing to volunteer one afternoon a season to take cancer survivors out on the water – and plans to have 1000 volunteers by the end of 2010. In May, Drechsler is invited to speak at the National Press Club.

About Manning Up In Alaska
Manning Up In Alaska’s tale of life-changing adventure holds our attention from the beginning, when we learn how Dick Drechsler dodges death, but forever loses his ability to eat. He proves that there is hope, even in the most dire of circumstances, when he undertakes a journey that changes his very soul. As Dick and his wife sail from Mexico to Alaska onboard a 47-foot sailboat, aptly named Last Resort, a grassroots audience grows to number in the thousands, as they follow his Web site, www.VoyagesOfLastResort.com. Dick discovers not only the empowering nature of the ocean, but recognizes a calling to share the experience with other cancer sufferers, resulting in his creating the Foundation.
