Robb & Stucky Installs Interiors For Bluegreen’s Orlando Sunshine Resort Published November 2, 2009 Robb & Stucky, one of North America’s largest home furnishings and interior design companies, has recently completed the installation of furnishings and accessories for one of Bluegreen Corporation’s Orlando, Florida vacation ownership resorts. Design work was concluded in two buildings of the Orlando’s Sunshine Resort, according to Ron Nowfel, IDS, Robb & Stucky’s senior designer for the project. In the first building, Nowfel and his team added new carpeting, draperies, patio furniture, floral accessories, artwork, lamps and bathroom vanities in 24 of the building’s 36 units. They expect to complete the other 12 units in the future. In the second building at the resort, Robb & Stucky added custom-designed headboards to all 60 units, using a natural woven product. New carpeting throughout the units, bathroom lighting fixtures and floral accessories were also installed. Owners were not disturbed during the installation process since much of the work was done during maintenance weeks. According to Nowfel, “Model Rooms were finalized by the end of October, less than three months after the start of the project. This provided owners the opportunity to see what the entire units will look like when all the furniture is installed in January. While this project did not include the replacement of upholstered pieces such as sofas and chairs, we have created a design concept for the entire unit to ensure that there will be a continuity of design when they are installed in future phases.” A 30-year veteran designer, Nowfel has been designing hospitality properties for Robb & Stucky for the past decade and has worked on resorts from Scotland to Scottsdale. He most enjoys the challenge of pleasing many timeshare owners and guests as they return to a property and see new enhancements after he has completed an assignment. “Helping to update a resort’s look and please the owners is an exhilarating experience for me,” says Nowfel. In its continuing relationship with Bluegreen Resorts, earlier this year, Robb & Stucky Interiors completed the total furnishing of 84 two-bedroom units and 12 Presidential suites in a new phase of development at The Fountains in Orlando. Commented Dan Lubner, President Resort Division for Robb & Stucky Interiors, “We were honored to provide our unique interior design services to Bluegreen through the creation of a new line of custom furnishings, specifically for The Fountains. At the Fountains, we also coordinated every facet of the design, manufacturing, shipping, and installation process.” When working with a hospitality/resort client, Lubner adds, “We provide design, installation, warehousing of furniture and coordination fees without charge, focusing on the creation of the furnishings needed and manufacturing specifically what the developer needs with our own in-house capabilities. Our full turnkey solutions are offered out of productivity, and not for profit. This allows the maximum percentage of the developers’ budget to be utilized for furnishings.” Founded in 1915 in Fort Myers, Florida, Robb & Stucky is a nationally respected interior design and premier furnishings retailer with showrooms in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and Costa Rica.
